Advertising in RGV Magazine… Does RGV Mag Work?

Ask yourself this question.. When was the last you read a magazine of any size and then went out and purchased something based on the content of that magazine? I feel the same way about bill boards and some other forms of media. It is no secret that many news papers are going completely digital as they struggle to push news papers which has a much larger market than say a local magazine such as RGV Magazine. When I first went to the page I noticed that the magazine is plagued with just whatever advertising space they could sell. The magazine in my opinion seems to try very hard to make everything sexually appealing. They list a place or two where you can get your breast augmented, etc. Then of course you can buy a Rolex but it loses its wow factor when the ad is placed right next to a Tire Company ad. Just like you have a car dealership ad and right next to it you have a custom home builder ad. I have to tell you that I doubt that due to the way the magazine is set up I don’t think that there are two many 17-25 year olds are going to utilize most of these services. I am sure that RGV Mag would lead us to believe that I have correct information regarding it’s readership i would invite Marc Fantich to post a comment and back it up with the data that he would request if he was spending his own money. Marc Fantich is in the business of selling ads.  At the end of the day it all comes down to dollars and sense so you need to be informed before you make sa decision to pay out money for any sort of advertising. Your spending money either for your company or your employers company.  Here are some questions you want to ask your self.

Do you need to generate customers/traffic/leads/etc. right away?

Are you committing to a contract of any sort such as a 6 or 9 month contract?

Are you aware that  a  good website company can have your site built for a one time fee starting at $1,500 without any monthly fee’s?

With the boom of the ineternet.. do you or your family still buy many magazines like they did 5 years ago? I realize that RGV Mag is free and it has to be, because they realize the day of selling a magazine when people have iphones, ipads, Galazy Tablets, etc. is a very tough sell as digital content is available and considering that RGV Mag doesn’t offer much as far as content is concerned it is 90% ads based.

The footprint of the distribution sites showing there Rack Locations are only in McAllen, Mission, and Edinburg. If I was investing in any sort of magazine I would want to have a larger foot print for more exposure obviously. I would want the magazine to cover   Harlingen, Brownsville, and South Padre Island.

Again that brings in the fact that you could do a website and cover the country for the fraction of the cost. We can even target keyword phrases to  make sure you show up in google, yahoo, and bing for any keyword phrase you would like to show up for.

Have you ever meant a new client or prospect  and you shake that persons hand and they ask the big question.. Do you have an ad in RGV Magazine?  I know what your thinking.. You have never been asked that question, but you have been asked this one.. Do you have a website? That is a big question that a magazine can not answer. Marc Fantich Doesn’t Pay Website Design Company

If your just now tuning in, thanks for visiting the new website we hope you like it. This site was developed to inform the public that if you are doing business with Marc Fantich owner of several companies like Fantich Media Group, RGV Magazine, and Fists of Fury and I am pretty sure Donna’s Corn Maze that you should be on high alert.. Or just get your money before you perform any services for Marc.  Marc and I had been associates I would have used the word friends but associates seemed to be the better word. I quoted Marc Fantich a much lower rate than I would my regular clients because of the fact that we did know each other. We started on the project and there were some minor delays part of that was due to the lack of content but Marc’s claim is that at the very end after he and his son Eric Fantich had claimed that the site was ready to go live that he did not like the site, but didn’t tell me that till I started asking for the final payment which was around $1000 because I knocked off some money because Marc claimed that I was late on delivery. So Marc would give me the run around about the check being in the mail. My favorite one was let me check with my mom to see if she cut the check. Then there was the ole “Your making it very hard for me to send out the $500 check that is sitting on my desk.” when he actually owed me $1000. I normally would never let a site go live or hand over the files without receiving the final payment, but we were associates right?Marc was using the website that our company designed I would have to contact him on about 5 different occasions to ask him to stop using our work. He would actually take the site down and place it back online over and over again. My question was if you didn’t like the site why would you place it online with your name on it?

I was even on Marc’s email list so that anytime Marc sent out a email blast I would receive it. So when all of this occurred I figured I would send out a reply to one of the email blasts just letting people know how Marc conducts business behind closed doors. Of course these are Marc’s friends so I wasn’t expecting a warm welcome however there was a handful that contacted me directly to give me kudo’s and had explained that I was not the first deal gone bad for Marc Fantich. I must say that before I started working with Marc I was told by an undisclosed person to make sure I got paid upfront. But Marc wouldn’t do that to me I thought.

Marc even threatened me over the phone.. His exact words were ” You won’t be laughing when someone is at your door choking you out”. – Marc Fantich

I thought they were just words till Chris Fantich the brother of Marc Fantich and a guy named Chance Jenkins were indicted on March 17, 2010 for Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Assault against me. See indictment Fantich Idictment.

I didn’t expect Marc Fantich to ever pay the remaining balance he owed to me however I didn’t expect in my opinion what appears to be an ordered assault against me. But Marc has been everything except predictable. Chris Fantich I hope will have plenty of time to think about what he had set out to do. Marc Fantich however the more successful and more professional of the two can just sit back and continue business as usual.
